- Meeting was called to order. 16 people were present; everyone introduced themselves
- September 2018 meeting minutes were approved
- Recap of PTO approved motions
- Expenses: McHugh’s First Day of School Event, Plants (front of school)
- Decreased student directory price and Hornet Hop entry fee
- Intentions: make events more affordable as a result of successful fundraising
- Treasurer’s Update
- Build forecast; unknown variables in springtime can affect fall budget
- Decide/determine feasibility of long-term goal using excess funds
- Revenue = spiritwear, student directories, Dollar General Grant
- Expenses = additional tie-dye t-shirts (expanded sizing to include XS and XL), MySchoolAnywhere subscription fee, teacher reimbursements, back-to-school expenses
- Potential for scholarship opportunities; determine if/how we can reach out to families in need
- Volunteer Coordinator Update
- Team leads needed: Hornet Hop, hospitality, book fair, read-a-thon, teacher/staff appreciation
- Reminder: events/services disappear without volunteers
- All fliers must be reviewed and approved by Jenny Hinman prior to going in Friday Folders
- Maximize paper usage by printing front and back
- Opportunity for volunteer to oversee collection drives similar to Box Tops (Loaves for Learning)
- Team leads needed: Hornet Hop, hospitality, book fair, read-a-thon, teacher/staff appreciation
- Grant Committee
- Recommended approval of all grant requests: RazKids, Artist in Residence, Kindess Retreat, Base Camp, indoor recess toys, Phy. Ed. equipment, sensory toys, classroom supplies, Microbits, in-house Science Museum and Raptor Center field trips, Ebenezer transportation, and PBIS
- Grant Committee decisions were approved (Tawny motioned; Linda seconded)
- Hornet Hop
- Silent Auction – everything was donated! (primarily gift cards)
- Buy now options; winner must be present and pay same night (cash, check, and credit cards)
- Games and food require tickets
- Work with the school to try to give ticket bundles to families in need

- Other PTO Business
- Fundraising opportunities: Chipotle Night (11/12), paint party?, Schwans Campaign (through Feb)
- Read-a-thon: working with The Get Movin’ Crew and review with BLT to get teacher involvement
- Family Fun Night: 12/7 – need to determine what event will be
- Reviewed idea of putting inspirational messages on bathroom stalls; grant request to be filled out
- Twins Game will be 4/26 (Friday) – $15/ticket
