Meeting was held virtually over zoom, 9 members were present
- VP Josh Bergstrom conducted, everyone introduced themselves
- February meeting minutes were approved
- Virtual Story Time Recap – took place after Feb PTO meeting, well attended (20 families), took pictures for the yearbook
- SMART Fair website is live, all are encouraged to look at students projects and comment on them, thank you Jessica and Allison for making this event possible!
- Read-A-Thon Update – Wild About Reading
- Read-A-Thon will take place from April 5th – April 23rd
- This is the largest fundraiser and includes the whole school
- All prizes and communications have been approved by the equity committee
- Yearbook Update
- Board approved motion to extend deadline from March 29 to April 4
- Board approved motion to reduce contracted amount of books to 176 to reduce cost loss, expected loss is $800 – $648
- Teacher Appreciation Week Plan
- Teachers are in 5 different lounges to help reduce contact, teachers have been enjoying conference treat bags, and are grateful for whatever we plan
- Hyvee reusable bag program chose HBPTO for April, to help keep focus on the Read-A-Thon, the bag program will only be advertised in the school newsletter
- Fundraising – Josh will look into other fundraising opportunities and present findings at April PTO meeting
- February Financials
- Revenue was $813, which was comprised of Read-a-Thon Corporate sponsors totaling $500, Chipotle restaurant fundraiser for $215, and $98 from Amazon Smiles.
- Expenses were $423, coming from $273 from payment of Reading RAZ / ELL grant and $150 from teacher reimbursements.
- YTD, the PTO has brought in $2,534 and incurred expenses of 9,421, resulting in a net loss of ($6,887).
- Cash balance on 2/28/21 was $32,667.
- FY forecast shows a profit of $1,070, but is highly contingent upon the Read-a-Thon.
- May will be when we need to approve Board and Calendar for 2021/2022 school year
